Your Forgotten Roots

AI genealogy research assistant

Describe an ancestor you are stuck on. The assistant writes a step-by-step plan of which records to search next and where to find them.

For ancestors who have died. Do not enter details about living people. What you type is sent to our AI provider to write the plan and is not saved by us. See the privacy policy.

How to get a useful plan

  • Give a place and a time period. Records differ by county and by decade.
  • Say what you have already searched, so the plan does not repeat it.
  • Ask one question at a time. "Who were his parents?" works better than "tell me everything."

The assistant suggests where to look. It cannot see the records and it can be wrong. Confirm everything in the original record, and use the research methods to judge what you find.
